What Should I Know About Installation and Fitting?

What Should I Know About Installation and Fitting?

When it comes to installing your custom shower door, understanding the fitting process and any potential adjustments can help ensure a successful result. ATOG’s shower doors are designed with precision and flexibility in mind, but there are a few things to keep in mind to get the best fit. Here’s what you need to know:

Is there any flexibility or adjustment when fitting the doors?

Yes, there is some flexibility during the fitting process to accommodate slight variations in your bathroom’s dimensions. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Single Shower Door Adjustments: For single shower doors, you have around 2mm of adjustment. This can be achieved using the compression seals and by carefully positioning the hinges on the glass. This slight flexibility helps ensure a snug fit even if the measurements are slightly off.

  • Fixed Panels: If you’re fitting a fixed panel that’s attached to the wall using a channel, you’ll get up to 5mm of adjustment. This extra leeway is useful for ensuring the glass panel sits perfectly against the wall, even if it isn’t entirely straight.

Our goal is to make the installation process as straightforward as possible, and we provide guidance to ensure everything fits smoothly.

Are the shower doors watertight?

Our frameless shower doors are designed to be water-resistant rather than completely watertight. Here’s what that means:

  • Water-Resistant Seals: We use seals along all the edges of the door to minimise water leakage. While these seals do a great job at keeping water inside the enclosure, frameless designs don’t have the same level of water-tightness as fully framed doors.

  • Best Practices: To prevent water from leaking out, consider where your shower head is positioned. Avoid aiming the water directly at sensitive spots, like the hinges. A well-thought-out design can make all the difference, and we’re happy to provide recommendations.

While no frameless shower door is 100% watertight, ATOG designs are built to provide reliable water resistance, keeping your bathroom dry and safe.

Key Takeaways

Understanding the installation process and the level of water resistance your shower door offers can make a significant impact on your satisfaction with the final product. ATOG shower doors offer a small but essential degree of flexibility during installation to help achieve a perfect fit. By keeping a few design considerations in mind, you can enjoy a stylish, functional, and water-resistant shower enclosure.
